Who are we

Veenadhari Institute of Music and Fine Arts was founded in 1985 to help spread music and dance to every nook and corner of the country. Our Institute is in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Veena Vidushi Nadajyothi Vainika Kala Praveene Smt Anuradha Madhusudan is the Founder Chairman of Veenadhari Institute of Music and Fine Arts. We here at “Veenadhari” want to bring to you the music & dance of India which has a huge heritage. At Veenadhari we would like to provide a platform for artists to present their talent in any of the Indian Art Forms.

Dance and music are both strongly interlinked. They say Dancing and Music can cure things that medication never will.
“Music is to the soul what words are to the mind.” ― Modest Mouse

Music is a collection of coordinated sounds. It is a big challenge to describe music in words.

“Where words fail, music speaks.” ― Hans Christian Andersen

Indian Music has a lot of forms. Classical, devotional, folk, film, Indian rock, pop and the list goes on. Music is one which has no language barrier. Any song in any language can reach people even if they don’t understand the language. Such is music which carries away people with its enriched sounds and has a huge impact on people’s minds. Music is an integral part of people’s lives in India and is performed in many functions like religious events in temples, cultural events in schools/colleges, social gatherings, marriages and so on.

Dance is the hidden language of the soul of the body – Martha Graham.

We at the IndianMusic want to also bring to you the rich heritage of the different forms of dance of India. They include Bharatanatyam,Kathakali, Kudhipudi, Odissi, Mohinyattam, folk, contemporary, film style and so on. There are different forms of dance originated from the different parts of India by adding their own local traditions and elemental flavours into the dance. People dance for various reasons and it is a form of feeling relieved and brings joy. Some also do feel that is a very good way to keep up our physical fitness. Again, dance as with music is performed for various religious and cultural events.
