Carnatic – Short concert competition
Vocals only –
– Vocalists can take part in the competion.
– Accompaniments are allowed. One Laya vadya is mandatory – like mridangam, ghatam, khanjira, etc
– Only the vocalist’s performance will be judged
Categories - rules
Screening (Round 1) – Participants are expected to submit a video – Duration 12 minutes – (Raaga Aalapana, Kriti & Kalpana Swara)
Final Round – Shortlisted participants will perform Live on our Facebook Page – Varnam, Kriti, Devotional Song & Thillana (Raaga Aalapana & Kalpana Swara are mandatory
PS – Participants can do Taana, Nereval (not mandatory)

Round 1 - Prelims
- Video Submission (Screening/Prelims)
- Time Duration – 10 minutes
- 1 Kriti of your choice – Raaga Aalapana & Kalpana Swara are mandatory
- Accompaniments are allowed, not mandatory
Shortlisted particiapnts move to the Final Round
Short Concert - Final Round
- Shortlisted participants will have do a LIVE short concert (Online – Facebook / YouTube)
- Time Duration – 30 minutes (maximum)
- Short concert should include –
1 Varna
1 Kriti – Raaga Aalapana & Kalpana Swara are mandatory
1 Devotional song
1 Thillana - 1 Laya vadya is mandatory. Participants are allowed to have more than 1 accompaniment.
(Participants are encouraged to improvize in the given time limit. Ex – Thana, Neraval can be included, not mandatory)
1 Laya vadya is mandatory ( like mridangam, ghatam, khanjira, etc)
(Laya vadya is not mandatory for Prelims. It is mandatory only for the Final Round

The last date for registration is the 28th of April 2024, 11:59 pm IST.
- On successful payment, you will receive the “Payment Receipt” on your registered email. (DO NOT reply to this email as this is a “No Reply” mailbox). Treat this as your registration confirmation. (Please ensure you’ve provided your correct email id)

Once we have received your registration, we will be sending you an email confirmation with the link to submit your video for screening. You should receive this email from veenadhari.team@gmail.com within 2 days of your registration.
social media live – final round
Shortlisted participants will receive a confirmation email by the 26th of May. You should receive the details regarding your slot for Facebook/ YouTube Live by 27th of May
RESULTS ANNOUNCEMENTS
Results will be announced on our website and Social Media pages
Winners will be awarded with trophy* along with e-certificate of achievement and performance opportunity on our Social Media pages – Veenadhari Institute of Music
General Rules

Terms & Conditions
– Accompaniments are allowed. One laya vadya( like mridangam, ghatam, khanjira, etc) is mandatory if the participant gets selected for the Final Round
– Microphone is allowed. Studio recording is not allowed
– Shruti box/Tanpura/Tambura is allowed
– Please make sure you have no disturbance while recording.
– Try to have good lighting for your video.
– No change of category once registered.
– Individual feedback will not be provided.
– Payment will not be refunded under any circumstances.
– Full/part of your video may be uploaded on our Social Media Pages
– The number of prizes in each category will be based on the number of participants registered/shortisted in the respective categories.
– There will be no disqualification. The terms and conditions should be followed strictly, failing which negative marking might be applied based on judges discretion
– The decisions taken by the institute for conducting the competitions, declaration of the results given by the Judges are final and no further correspondance will be entertained.
– The institute reserves the right to postpone or cancel either total or part of the competitions if it thinks fit to do so.
If the event is cancelled, money will be refunded.
– A declaration to the effect that the participant has agreed to the terms and conditions of the Institute has to be given by putting a tick mark in the check box provided at the end of the application form
